Gene Is not Destiny!

Very important piece of research illustrated importance of environment that either attenuate or lead to specific disease phenotype to express. Environment can also change gene by epigenetic mechanism. Any public health intervention that ignores environmental risk modification to prevent chronic disease like Type-2 DM,hypertension, obesity, cancer etc, will lead to futilely & which is very relevant for absolute risk reduction, especially to the poor countries, where those diseases become an epidemic form. Lack of infrastructure, out of pocket expense & poor insight with corruption among policy makers & politician alike. I am foreseeing very grim picture for those poor countries where purchasing essential drugs will make people poorer!
