Alcohol causes heart burn which increases esophageal cancer.!

Could the increase in esophageal cancer be caused by an increase in heartburn due to drinking alcohol? I think if ALDH2 deficiency is involved in the hike in cancer risk, you would have seen an increase in other types of cancer too.
